Fiat 500 Ferrari Edition !!!
BEHOLD, The limited edition Ferrari Edition Fiat 500s!!
Powered by a revised 3.5 ltr V8 engine from the Ferrari 355, placed where the rear seats used to be; from afar one will know this car doesn't intend to hide it's capability, nor to feel shy of what it's original form was.
Powering the rear wheels via a Alfa Romeo 75 style (albeit vice versa), the gearbox was placed at the front of the car for better weight distribution, but behind the front axles to lightened the load on the directional wheels, giving crisp, pin point, immediate steering responses.
Coupled with a Ferrari derived paddle shift gearbox with, Ohh yes!! - The Ferrari Manetino on the steering wheel, allows the driver to change different computational vehicle set up for different driving situations, road, track, snow or sport; with the final setting that switches off all electronic controls, allowing all monstrosity of 350hp to vaporize the Pirellis at the rear.
A quick pedal to the metal will send the car to a quick, slight forward lean, the pneumatic suspensions electronic current charges in and stiffens the liquid metal in the hydraulics, stiffening the suspension and within a blink of an eye, the car lurches forward like a true Italian Stallion, rumbling up dusts and warps the horizon in front as if Star Trek Enterprise does.
And of course, the soundtrack, the revving of the engine and burble from the tubi exhausts going out rear with that distinct, Ferrari soundtrack.
Ferrari had transformed the humble Fiat 500 into a true Italian supercar packaged in modern world ergonomics and practicality.
At least, that's what Fiat's Marketing people wants you to imagine.
Coming back to reality, the Fiat 500 Ferrari Edition offers a full splurge of Ferrari paint, black leather with red stitches on the steering, racing red hot Ferrari RED dash panels, top notch sound system (You should know 'Top Notch' isn't exactly a good replacement for words like Mark Levinson, Bang & Olufsen of BOSE), Automatic climate control (Climate control IS automatic), Electronic sunroof (Sun roofs ARE elextronic) and 16 inch wheels and with 100 horses pumping out from the 1400cc engine that might once in a while wheelspin your front wheels (Should you forget to imaginatively turn ON the Manetino)
And oh, Ferrari decided to not allow a prancing horse on the car as side badges, and Fiat doesn't accept the counter proposal of putting Donkeys. Us? We'd take the Scorpions please. For the first time in history, Abarth sounds better than Ferrari
