Volkswagen City to be built. Wait?! In Perak? Malaysia?!?!

Malaysia never ceases to stun the world with their often off-the-scale claims.

From claiming to have produced a BMW 3 Series rival dubbed "Asia's answer to the 3 Series" when launching the Proton Waja back in 1998, to claiming to be South East Asia's automotive hub (Now in Thailand, last check Thailand is not part of Malaysia), to claiming to be South East Asia's Biotech Hub, Educational Hub, International Transportation Hub and god knows whatever more hubs.

Asked when officiatingthe Ipoh Volkswagen Carnival, Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin, Menteri Besar of Perak (States Governor) claimed that the state government would build a Volkswagen City, a modern, state of the art city that would serve as not only a tourist attraction, but would also serve as a spare parts supplier (manufacturing or warehousing?) for the region, and to include a Volkswagen exhibition gallery.

How, not to mention Perak but Malaysia, comes into play with Volkswagen's heritage does arouse our suspicion; especially not to mention Malaysia's government which had recently invited Volkswagen to take over Proton, but insisted Volkswagen MUST purchase from government selected suppliers. Till finally wasted Volkswagen's time by claiming Proton can take care of itself following a 'successful' preliminary first month sales of 30,000 units of a new variant from an old model, the Persona.

Nonetheless, we're very sure many more 'interesting' world attempts from Malaysia would catch some headlines. Oh we see, now that's the reason.
