Lotus Celebrates the 60th Anniversary with the most pointless Lotus ever:

In a world full of ever more powerful supercars, with wheels measuring 22" inches, kerb weight knocking at the doors of the 2 ton mark, 1000hp; loved by wealthy Arabians or Russians, Lotus always came off as being a little special, a no frills manufacturer that creates wonderful handling little sportscars with perfect weight distribution, small and light engines powering small and light chassis, offering automotive enthusiasts the heaven in automotive pleasure. Plenty of Lotus was ordered without any amenities available in modern cars, and were indirectly the main influence in bringing stripped out sportscars to the highlight of supercar stardom. In what was supposed to be a splendid celebration of 60 years of automotive engineering purity and excellence, Lotus did the unthinkable with the lack lustre Europa, the first Lotus that aims to provide 'luxury comfort' - (which failed miserably), they've unveiled a $266,500 USD Europa (Selling price of the Europa is around $60,000 USD) which is encrusted in Diamonds by East Anglia, with a nicely done up interior in black leather, real diamonds on the gear knob, speedometer cluster and the front bonnet badge. Lotus proofs from time to time, their no frills seriousness in sports car manufacturing do have a gap or two for some sarcasm and bullshit. Fortunately, there should only be a very limited numbers (if not, one and only one) available.

Oh my, this car is using the same aircond vent and steering of their parent company, Proton....

What a bad combination, well, it certainly cut down a lot in cost of production by using standard part. Let's pray they aren't using the same power window unit.

Taking a look at the glimmering Optitron meter (a fad in Malaysia's car biz), I can't help to think that this is one speedster people can get at dirt-cheap price.

i have to disagree with you about the looks of the car cos i think it will looks better in the flesh than the promo or british auto show pics

there's some pic on the net that i
think it might change people perception about the car (atleast it change mine) cos at 1st i thought the evora just going to repeat europa failure...not anymore...for me its
a stunning car!!!
