Peugeot launched the 308 GT in Malaysia

Peugeot has announced the availability of the 308 GT in Malaysia. Powered by a 1.6 liter Turbocharged engine which Peugeot jointly develops with BMW and is now powering the Mini Cooper S. With 175hp on tap, power channeled through the 18" front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox, and with 240nm on tap, this should be a nice city zig zagger (not that we recommend) to nicely fit into the space further up front of the city cab with the cab driver giving a nice "Oi! apa ni!" inverted Queen Elizabeth's signature hand gesture viewable through your rear view mirror. And you needn't worry for the buses either, as the 308 GT was equipped with 6 airbags and you get a full moonroof atop, perfect for the "Salute to the bus driver in a very sorry manner" gesture should you be caught in a yellow box jammed up front, blocking the bus and a loud air horn was followed there after, of which when the road was clear ahead, you could then switch your sorriness to the international recognized hand gesture of a single finger summoning Zeus to pass oozes of lighting thru your middle lightning rod - All for the viewing pleasure of the bus driver thru your crystal clear moonroof.

Of course that's the standard situation here in Kuala Lumpur's daily traffic with these so-called hot hatches of Proton Evolutions, however, the selling price of RM159,999 would proof a little too stiff for average city stormers above mentioned, hence would only then be available to the more afluent, gentle office geeks who needed some ego boosting when they're on the open roads channeling all pressure from the office to the very tip end of the right foot. All the fun of the Mini Cooper S, but with less identical cars running around, a hefty savings of RM80,000 (Mini Cooper S is RM239,000) and never have to answer the question of why BMW creates a FWD Mini where their campaigns always stressed FWD's suckiness.
