This is surprising, with the Murcielago LP-640 out and done, the Gallardo LP-560 showing Superleggara buyers are idiots; and the Lamborghini Estoque confirmed for production, we'd be thinking the folks at Lamborghini were all but free for another project.
Here comes rumors of another project dubbed the Murcielago LP-670-4 SV that will soon debut. Earlier on, we've showed you spy pictures of a mystery Lamborghini undergoing tests, of which by then many thought this might be what Lamborghini could be showing in the Paris Motor Show. It was commonly known as the Lamborghini Murcielago SuperVeloce, which could be an extreme version of the Murcielago (a la Gallardo Superleggara) that was only driven with RWD. With more aggresive styling on the fascias and improvements on aerodynamics, with a huge rear spoiler helping with massive downforce.
Now, a member from FerrariChat forums, had claimed that he had witnessed the development vehicle, and plenty of details too, he mentioned that the supercar under development is the Murcielago LP670-4-SV, from the name itself, it seems a logic speculation of which the 640hp from the LP640 could be further retuned to produce close to 670hp.
However, the '4' and 'SV' seems to contradict, as the Diablo SVs, are RWD variants, whereas the LPxxx-4 means 4WD. This is then further confirmed by the forum member named 'Vik', where he mentioned it is indeed using the same 4WD drivetrain from the Murcielago LP640, however with further weight savings of up to 110kg (220lbs), carbon ceramic brakes, matt color completing plenty of carbon fiber body panels and interestingly, a huge SV decal/print/vinyl on the side of the test car. Top speed is said to reach 342km/h and Lamborghini plans to launch a limited production of 350units.
We'll see any of those details made it through, nonetheless, we're pretty sure Lamborghini is up to something, as the picture above proved.
