Detroit Auto Show 2009: Lexus HS250h Unveiled!
Lexus might be a small player in the world luxury car market. However in America, they're the indisputable market leader, and having achieve that in a short time span of 20 years is no mean feat. America is the toughest car market, even if its the largest, thus every small little move from Lexus in this market will shake their competitors, and Lexus again is doing that with the first dedicated luxury hybrid - The Lexus HS250h.
Sharing the technology of the 3rd Generation Toyota Prius, the new HS250h is longer than the current IS, and (surprisingly) wider than the ES (Lexufied Camry). Putting the Hybrid Synergy Drive coupled with a 2.4ltr engine, it pumps out a healthy dose of 187hp.
Interior of course is Lexus' strong hold as well, and there's no missing of hi-tech gadgetry and buttons, heads up display, multimedia screens etc are of course expected.
Toyota is very serious about pushing it out to the market, stating it will be available somewhere between Q2 or Q3 2009, expecting to sell around 30-35,000 units a year.
