BMW wants to tell you their cars are RWD. sDrive What!?

Remember the X1 we reported earlier? Where as the entry level X-Series, it will come with RWD as well, oh great, a RWD SUV (What are marketers thinking these days) and that they will be differentiated by XDrive and SDrive, reminding you X is for Cross, S is for Rear (I can't figure that out) for the X1. Now, we have news that for all RWD BMWs, they will add the SDrive nomenclature. What? I mean, BMWs = RWD period. Why bother reminding people with answers where no one bothers to ask the question at the first place?

Again, since buying an X1 with RWD that couldn't make much of an effort making illegal U-Turns over the curbs, why not just get a 3-Series Touring? Which IMO are some of the most beautiful and capable BMWs these days.
