Volkswagen GTI or Scirocco?

At the verge of the new Golf MKVI set to be available in showrooms, we couldn't help but put our eyes, ears and attention on the Golf GTI MKVI and Scirocco. Well to be frank we couldn't care less as in the home country of 'Yours Truly', the GTI outsells the 1.6FSi by almost 30 to 1, making the GTI the real 'Golf' and the Golf something else that we don't really matter. Now the Scirocco seems every bit like something that should slot in between the Golf and Passat, with a longer profile, a sexier name (well anything sounds sexier than Golf - A game played by the most un-sexiest of all beings), and exquisite styling and heritage. Now the problem here lies, they both bore the same engine, the Scirocco was built upon the dynamics of the GTI's chassis; but the Scirocco costs exactly the same as the Golf GTI! Only that its sleeker, lower in profile, and looks much much more nicer, and the name, just sound so much more worth mentioning than merely saying "Golf." and then describing which version it was. Which would you rather have?
