Hyundai's new focus - Small cars

Thou we've reported earlier on how significantly capable the new Hyundai Genesis is, and then the report of Toyota and GM the first to grab hold of the first batch of the 3.8 V6 Genesis; and subsequently Edmund's Inside Line did a full review on Hyundai Genesis VS Lexus GS, with a surprising result of the Hyundai narrowly beating the well established Lexus. This seems all true and ready for Hyundai to join the big boys, but the smart Koreans are remaining cool about this, news has it that they merely need to prove they are capable of pleasing the rich folks, but they will remain focus on small cars given the current world scenario. New Santa Fe/Tucson would be offered in 4 cylinder engines only, the Tiburon/Coupe would be gone by 2011, being replaced by the Veloster concept shown above. There will also be a 4 cylinder engine being planned for the Genesis Coupe.

Not exciting, but we could all see these are solid groundwork for Hyundai to climb ever higher and grow bigger. Ford would really need to pull their asses together as anytime Hyundai could take over them and become the 4th largest manufacturer in the world.
