Project Alligator would enable Aston Martin access to diesel technologies, 8 speed transmissions, V8, V12 powerplants - In all, FULL ACCESS to human's greatest achievements in automotive technology breakthroughs.

Such a collaboration would immediately propel Aston Martin from a historic sports car manufacturer selling on good looks and heritage alone, to one of the supercar manufacturers that are at the pinnacle of automotive engineering, capable of competing with the likes of Ferrari and Porsche on superiority of vehicle dynamics.

Maybach could also benefit from such a development should us be not limited by our imaginations: What if Aston Martin give up Rapide and allow Maybach to do the ultimate super 4 door sedan? That would give a strong injection of steroid to the dying brand.

And if it gets bigger, Aston Martin could end up being willingly taken over by Mercedes Benz. Giving the powerhouse a portfolio and platform they've long wanted to to compete with the likes of thoroughbreds like Lamborghini and Ferrari - of which the Mclaren nameplate just doesn't have enough caliber.
