Top Gear track record shattered!

The infamous Top Gear test track, not the best track in the world (in fact could be one of the worst), not the most complicated nor glamorous, but being the track for the most popular TV show in UK, it speaks volume for its popularity; and in every episode, one car will be put to test, and one driver will be put to test in 'Star of a reasonably priced car'.

As for the car part,we believe it's the second most important track in the world for manufacturers after the Nurburgring, with Enzo previously clinging to the top, then beaten by Maserati, and then Koenigsegg beat it with the CCX (Plus Top Gear Wing), then the track record again beaten by the Ascari A10, the record now had been shattered again.

Hit the jump to find out which supercar broke the record and the video accompanying it.

In it's latest episode, Richard Hammond featured yet another small scale manufacturer from Germany, GUMPERT, with their first supercar to debut - The Apollo, fitted with an Audi RS4 engine turbo charged and tune to a massive 700hp, it broke the record, and we have the video for you.
