BMW cancelled E92 M3 CSL

On the upper right, launched in year 2001, is the E46 M3, a highly capable autobahn crasher with 343hp coupled with BMW's excellent driving dynamics, it is a hugely capable car. However BMW felt that's not enough and decided to take the M3 back to the drawing boards, retune the engine to produce 360hp, and shed off some weight creating the M3 CSL you see here on the lower right, gone are the fog lamps in favor of a sleeker aerodynamic bumper with a tiny hole on the right, or left for the driver.

With the launch of the E92 M3, which sports a 4.2 ltr V8 engine producing a staggering 420hp, this M3 not only improves leaps and bound, but added a tinge of luxury touch to the interior, crossing boundaries between a Nurburgring party crasher and an Autobahn highway GT cruiser. However it's 'refinement' had receive much slight criticisms for lossing the original M3 raw harness, with fans waiting eagerly for the CSL version that 'should' follow it's way.

Sadly, Ludwig Willisch the head of BMW's M Division had stated today that BMW will not be puttin the M3 CSL on production, given that the previous M3 CSL had only a production run of 1400, BMW decided it wasn't economically viable to produce it. This, is very sad news indeed for since the launch of the M3 E92, plenty competition had geared up, the Mercedes C63AMG, the upcoming Audi RS5, RS4 and Lexus' IS-F were all specifically made to target the M3, with all having their own talents securing that little already very small pie of uber performance sedans, BMW fans could only make do without the M3 CSL, luckily, for M3 owners out there, you can still spice up your Bimmer with some BMW M3 Wheels from WheelHQ.com

This effin' blows, mate.

The legendary M-Division cans the hardcore M3 CSL, instead continues on to develop M versions of the infinitely less sporty X5 and X6.

AMG is getting more and more hardcore, M-Division is getting tamer. What is the world coming to?

P.S. - E92 M3 has a 4.0l V8.
