3M Revolutionizes car painting?

Just look at this BMW, immaculate isn't it? The contours of it's flame surfacing, the perfect proportions and of course the stunning white paint. Or is it?

Hit the jump and get surprised!

This white BMW E92 Coupe's owner is a German guy who bought a black E92 Coupe, and upon using it for some while, decided to give it a change of color; he decided to get a bunch of men to experimentally work on using a 3M material - TO WRAP HIS CAR.

The process of this wonder wrap is called foiling and apparently it's quite popular with taxis and available in many colors of choice, are very popular with racing teams as well, it's also reported that the German Military are using this hi-tech material (For what?!)

The best part, is that the wrap is able to protect the paint underneath from stone chips and minor scratches, it could even stay on for 3 - 4 years and could withstand automatic car wash - which even certain paints couldn't.

Check out the process, amazing!

Yes, it is indeed interesting, however we're wondering the cost of the materials would've offset the time saved from labor ...

Wow, that's neat! Never thought it was possible to use 3M material for revamping a car. I would like to try it on my car that I've bought at a nearby Westminster used cars dealer. I'd like to have it wrapped yellow.
