GM to consider downsizing Saab

Saab, a brand that all automotive enthusiasts love and hate; have always had quite a struggle to compete with the likes of BMW and Audi under the General's watch. With GM themselves struggling in their homeland, Saab had always been limited to funding for R&D, new projects. Especially considering the 9-5 which was an award winner back in 1998, was still sold in the dealers now as a 9-5 with some cheeky facial job.

GM had reportedly wanting to downsize Saabs, by not using the initially designated Epsilon II platform, to cross platform sharing with the upcoming Chevy Cruze.

If that's the case, we believe it will be increasingly difficult for Saab to compete with their intended market, the middle uppers that spend lavishly on C-Class, A4, 3 Series.

GM, please do not destroy the only brand left in your line up that appeals to enthusiasts.
