French police raid Automotive Magazine's office over espionage claims
These are pictures of Renault's new Megane, but not for another 3 years. French police had raided Auto Plus' office upon the publication of these images in their latest issue, with which Renault had filed a police report over insider espionage as the images were clearly taken in Renault's development facilities, interior pictures were taken as well.
Computers, hard disks were confiscated for investigation purposes and one employee from Renault was arrested over the entire incident.
This of course enraged France's journalists as it's clearly oppressing press freedom, however Renault insists that it's protecting it's intellectual properties; while we have no qualms in either side's arguments (that's what courts and lawyers are for right?) we figured such moves by Renault (raiding Auto Plus) will only result in bad impressions for the automotive giant. They should've just fired the employee like what Chevrolet did for the employee who took pictures of the production Camaro.
Renault should understand one more thing, if there's any leaked images from Dacia, we couldn't care less. Well at least the next Megane's quite good looking.
