This is the new E92 M3 LeMan racer, destined to debut in upcoming American Le Mans.
BMW had a short but extremely dominating history in ALMS, with the previous generation E46 M3, BMW cheated by producing just 10 production model for homologation purposes to qualify the V8 engine M3 GTR into racing at ALMS. (E46 M3 is a Straight 6 engine)
Porsche cried like a baby to the regulators are demanded the rules to be changed (with just 1 production variant, unlike their 911 GT3) hence the minimum production for all ALMS entry was changed to 1000 units, BMW figured it wasn't worthwhile to do so and withdraw from the race.
With the new E92 V8 M3, BMW is back and Porsche would have no more reasons to throw their tantrum and act like a cry baby.
