Audi had developed this new system and installed a piggy back system in 50 traffic lights around Ingolstadt to test it.
The system communicates with traffic lights and will be able to calculate the speed the car is traveling, the distance and time it takes for the driver to reach the traffic lights to catch the 'Green Light'; this will help ease off hard acceleration and braking, reduce traffic light emergency stopping, queue in front of traffic lights, enhancing road safety and saving the environment as well.
