Spotted testing is the new 2009 Lexus RX (Toyota Harrier) SUV. The most surprising thing about this new RX is also the most boring - the RX, since the 1st generation debuting in 1998 had gained it's popularity from avant-garde styling, blending sportiness into bulky SUVs, creating sleek, stylish 4x4s; and the 2nd generation brought that further by sharpening, adding more dare into the 1st gen's styling.
This, the 3rd gen however, looked rather conservative, with a Corolla inspired headlamp and none surprising, predictable proportions. On looks wise, we're not giving any credit before we saw the real car.
As for mechanical stuffs, it's pretty obvious Toyota will still be using the 3.5V6 engine, and it's already a 'must' for Toyota to release a Hybrid version. It is said that the next generation will offer a V8 engine as well as a 6 speed slushbox.
