Geneva Motorshow: Lagonda Concept
Aston Martin itself is having a good run, with record sales from their V8 Vantage, DB9, the flagship DBS and the recently unveiled DBS V12 Volante; and of course the highly anticipated Rapide, which would bring supercar stardom's battle towards Four Door Supercars alongside Lamborghini's Estoque and Porsche's Panamera.
However, in order to grow their market, supercars alone cant really make the cut, with Supercar manufacturers working backwards harassing mass luxury manufacturers such as BMW, Audi and Mercedes, Aston Martin of course, has been eyeing on that big fat slice of cake. And they will do this by reviving the Lagonda nameplate. And this, is what they've came up with - Crossovers (not another one).
This Lagonda Concept's (styling aside, form factor first) possible closest competitor would be that of the Porsche Cayenne, or the unintentionally leaked X6M. However, instead of being an SUV, its somewhat closer to the Toyota Venza. A four door, comfortable, large and spacious vehicle with high ground clearance, but not too high as it need not cross over Amazon rivers. Essentially, it ended up somewhere between a Bentley Aranage and Toyota Venza.
Next up the styling, well the rear could come off as being very original, the front however, could easily come off as being an Audi Q9 (if there's is one). With that (no longer distinctive) Audi gaping grill, which you now can find them on almost every car, large or small. I've had some mix bag feelings with how this Lagonda ended up, and IMO, i'm very sure production dates wouldbe very far off, and their feedback boxes would've been full by now. Nope, its not good looking.
