GM CEO Rick Wagoner steps DOWN! COO Freitz Henderson to replace as interim CEO

The US auto industry's demise claims its latest 'victim', CEO of GM for the past 8 years G.Richard Wagoner (Rick Wagoner) was reportedly asked to step down - one day before President Obama announce the deals to assist GM along with Chrysler.

Of which both were requesting further aids from the US Government. I'm pretty sure this would not have come from Rick himself, as he not only was given the task to restructure GM, he has his own forte to defend, being able to turn GM around is already something personal to him, being bombarded by medias and the public for the last couple of years (GM has not posted a single profit since 2004), and being put onto the front page along with bad headlines, the only thing Wagoner could prevent from being called 'You mutha fxxker!' out on the streets is to turn around GM, and then achieving cult status that of Carlos Ghosen or Steve Jobs.

Plenty of sources do hint that its one of the requests from the government to remove Rick before pledges are fulfilled. I'm not entirely sure if this is a good move thou, as its clearly not the case of the 'Captain's fault' rather the whole freaking ship is just in wrecks, and could be the worst time for such a non productive move. In fact, he's only getting $1 a year, much less than any of those jobless people gained from social relieve welfare.

Who's next? In fact I personally think Bob Nardelli of Chrysler should be the one getting the axe, its obvious GM's brought down by its sheer size and production inefficiency along with tremendous health care, UAW contracts, whereas Chrysler had all of these, along with ridiculously uncompetitive products at the first place.
