Toyota to post first annual loss in 71 years of car making

No one in the automotive industry deserves the term of being called 'Having a hell of a roller coaster ride' more than Toyota. With a wonderful beginning of 2008, with its continuing sky-bound sales notching up another scale in the statistic charts, Toyota displace GM in Q1 2008, becoming the largest manufacturer in the world, then there's all the cherry red news of the Lexus LF-A poised to be unveiled, and the announcements of more trucks, new models from Toyota for the North American markets etc etc.

Well the last quarter of 2008 then, was indeed a wild ride not only for the Detroit 3, but for Toyota as well, where sales had plunge around 30% globally, Toyota might be using that red inked pen stowed away somewhere in its drawers to close the balance sheet of year 200.

For the first time since 1937 since Toyota's first year of business, its very likely that the giant Toyota will post a loss for this year. - An unbroken record for 71 years straight.
