Suzuki Kizashi - This is how you spell FAIL in Japanese

It's always a thrill to see pre-production car spy shots, knowing how the curves and lines that came from concepts have translated into the final production. One car that we've expected with loads of anticipation is the Suzuki Kizashi, the first full size sedan from this manufacturer that had consistently delivered thrilling small cars - Swift Sport for example. Now Suzuki had leak words that they'll embark into this highly competed category, with traditional giants like Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and Nissan Cefiro all controlling a healthy market share, forming an almost impenetrable barrier for newcomers. Mazda is the first to declare war with the Mazda 6, which despite positive reviews from everywhere, the brand still doesn't ring bells when consumers came to think of this category, and the Camry and Accord continued to reign supreme.

Now when Suzuki mentioned they're 'interested' in this category, everyone had a brief moment of cold seating on behalf, however when they first showed the Kizashi Concept, with it's pronounce angles, the wide angry gaping grill and that beautiful profile, we're somewhat convinced, and through various changes to the Kizashi concept, the final rendition got a full thumbs up from everyone in the industry. We're all hoping, but we knew small little jittery details from the concept would've been impossible to make its way into production, especially those massive chrome 20" wheels, and perhaps those space-age looking headlight internal clusters, but we crossed our fingers tightly wishing the most important feature of the Kizashi (or any car for that matter), the profile would stay on. But it's not always easy, it takes great courage and economic strenght to put into production concepts, the likes of Audi TT, BMW's flame surfacing all require very different methods of metal surfacing techniques that involves costs, and to compete in this segment, cost is something vital.

Well this is not an example to find excuse for Suzuki, as what we've witnessed here, is embarressingly hideous, un-shamely taking the styling hints of the concept and vaguely putting them into something entirely different (ugly), and to claim this is the Kizashi we all witnessed in car shows is utterly disgusting and dissapointing. Just take a look at the comparison pictures and witness it yourselves.
