Production Toyota iQ Coming Soon!

The revolutionary iQ from Toyota, will be put into production at year end of 2008. Utilizing (possibly) two petrol engine variants and one diesel engine, with a Hybrid model coming up further on.

Yes, by now you all must have thought 'How revolutionary can this be?' given that its almost a complete rip-off of the Smart ForTwo, with the wheelbase just a tad longer than the 2 seater, Toyota is able to create a unique 3+1 seater, with the passenger seat placed further up front, another adult can seat comfortably behind the front passenger, whereas the rear seat behind the driver could accommodate anything from a handbag, chihuahua to a small child.

This unique layout adds immense practicality to such an impossibly small package, and ultimately saving PR managers countless sleepless nights thinking up reasons why your parents in law shouldn't come along on a Sunday family day out. We're very eager to see the iQ put into production, and the extra 1+1 seats, Smart is definitely out of the question as a rival, and yes, Toyota has again carved itself a uber-niche without employing massive technological prowess that would eventually be carried on to car buyer's bank accounts. Who would have thought omitting a glovebox would've saved Daimler Chrysler billions throughout the 10 year Smart was conceived and built?
