Maserati Gran Turismo will have a younger brother soon!

The folks at Auto Express had given us all a good heads up in regards to the previously spied Maserati GT Hardtop Convertible, of which everyone thought it could be the Maserati GT Spyder. According to AE, the spied car is actually the upcoming little baby brother of the Gran Turismo, smaller, but retains the 2+2 seater layout, however the rear seats are detachable, and this baby GT will only be available in hard top convertible format ala Ferrari California, and the mechanism used would be even lighter than conventional fabric convertibles. This would give Porsche 911 another viable competitor in the long run. Believed to be made available next year, the baby GT will be using a detuned version of the 4.2 liter V8 currently powering the Gran Turismo, and instead of 400hp, it will be around that of 350hp, priced around the region of £60,000 ($105,450 USD).
