Designed with CAD, which is highly unusual of its time, it debuted in 1989 with the world at awe of it's 4WS technology, the first BMW to sport a multi link rear suspension, fly-by-wire throttle, and manual versions get a 6-speed gearbox coupled to a huge 5.0 ltr V12 engine producing 300hp, capable of reaching a top speed of 250km/h. Subsequent models of the 5.4 ltr 850Ci produced 326hp and the last 850CSi produced 386hp. Unfortunately the 8 Series went head on with the economy downturn of 1990s and production was reduced, with the pulling out of the US market in 1997, and production halted in 1999, with only a total of 30,621 units produced.

So, for those who've 'arrived' driven your Nissan 350Z for some time, thinking of what to have as your next car, couldn't imagine yourself plonking RM750,000 ($220,000 USD) for a Nissan GTR, tired with Merc SLs and CLs everywhere, why not consider this piece of engineering excellence? Oh, do set aside around RM70 ($21 USD) per day as your annual road tax fund. Those who're interested, do check it out in Zerotohundred.
