2008 Paris Motor Show: Peugeot Prologue Concept

For any motoring journalists, Peugeot has always put on a good show in most international car shows, with concepts ranging from moon buggies to Great White Sharks on wheels, it's almost always a 'there ya go, another crazy concept from Peugeot'.

Well, that might not be the case with the Prologue Concept, as putting into perspectives, it looks fairly 'boring', there are no green laser lights shooting out of its tyres as it rolls, or a huge glass domes with puny little wheels on it's edges. The Prologue, looks exactly like a prologue of - the upcoming Peugeot 3008 Crossover. I believe you all must be going (No.. not another Crossover again~)at this point of time, but don't be; as MPVs, and small crossovers are traditionally French maker's strength in my opinion, you all should go test drive one and witness it for yourselves, be it a Renault Megane, Citroen C4 Picasso (especially the fabulous Citroen C6); then you'll remember what cars are actually meant to be, to chauffeur us in comfort, to protect us from the rain, to be as comfortable as possible with lots of cleverly designed cubbies, cruising effortlessly, swallowing plenty of groceries and ergonomically designed seats that are oh so comfortable. In essence, the very creation of cars are meant for us to travel, from point A to B, safely and comfortably, to carry stuffs deemed too heavy for us. However its not easy to adapt that mindset, especially with BMW's onslaught of marketing campaigns had kept all of us thinking every bus should also be the Ultimate Driving Machine, even lorries should have 50:50 weight distribution, and any MPV that couldn't corner like a hothatch are rubbish.

Take your time off, step into a French car, forget the depreciation, forget the brand's appeal factor, and you might just get yourself a wonderful car that'll put a smile on your families face, which contradicts to what everyone else was saying, are nevertheless, more important smiles than you, the driver's, own.

Well, although it sounds like I'm praising a Concept which hadn't come into production yet, all the writings above, are dedicated to the Citroen C4 Picasso which I suspect, is the platform where this is based on.
