Toyota's plan for the game - Cancel Supra successor, focus on hybrid

With tough times ahead for the automobile industry, and the ever stringent requirement on car emission regulations, Toyota, the current indisputable leader had laid plans ahead involving the ever strengthening of it's product portfolio by moving a step closer as the world's most boring car manufacturer.

First off, Toyota will be adding two hybrid models for the US market, a Sienna and Venza crossover, then a complete new model of the Yaris, RAV4, Camry, and it's low selling coupe cabriolet Avalon by year 2012. Toyota had also boldly claim that all it's production portfolios will be equipped with a hybrid version by year 2020.

The sad part is, there will be no replacement for the Toyota Supra, not even a hybrid version of the rumored Supra replacement FT-HS. Fans would have to resort to the RWD AE86 replacement which Toyota will be co-developing with Subaru, of which could also be regarded as Toyota's subsidiary given the current controlling majority share Toyota holds in Fuji Heavy Industries.
