Surprising relationships between car manufacturers
This is the Mitsubishi Mirage, produced between year 1991 till 1995. With Mitsubishi's close ties with Malaysian manufacturer Proton, the Proton Putra was launched in year 1994 as the coupe variant of the Proton Wira.
However, there is also a distant cousin of these shared platform Mitsubishi, and it's a surprising one, coming all the way from United States. Yes, a left hand drive Dodge. Dodge Colt that is, with a coupe and sedan.
There are alot of hidden projects between manufacturers that are not well known of, the Volvo S40 MK1, is actually the Mitsubishi Carisma, which is also a Proton Waja, however this is a more complete platform sharing as all three features very different body panels and each are highly customized, unlike the badge reengineering of the Putra/Mirage/Colt.
