Chrysler announced loss profit of $1.1 billion

Chrysler announced a very 'surprising' news today, stating that the group, now under Cerberus had posted a $1.1 billion in profit for the first two quarters of 2008, despite it's continuous plunging sales, which as of July 2008, is 28.7% lower than same period prior year.

This really raises our eyebrows (as well as doubts) as the 3rd largest American automaker had for the last 5 years been making huge losses for Daimler Chrysler (the previous group where Mercedes Benz and Chrysler both merged); till the extend Daimler decides to sell Chrysler off to Cerberus.

Nontheless, hopefully all automaker can make their turn around soon, especially the BIG 3, with Ford posting $8.7 billion losses and GM posting $15.5 billion losses in the first 2 quarters of 2008.
