The world's largest carbon fiber manufacturers Toray (No.1) Mitsubishi Rayon (No.3) had release in press statement due to the rising cost of raw materials, the price of carbon fibers will rise by 10 - 30%. This come as a shock as most were thinking with the wide usage of carbon fibers coupled with reduction in production cost due economies of scale, the cost might go down.
