BMW USA recalls 200,000 vehicles for possible faulty airbag

BMW USA recalled 200,000 vehicles which were affected by a faulty sensor placed beneath the passenger seat that might fail to detect a passenger's presence and deactivates the passenger airbag.

Due airbags have been known to be harmful for young passengers/babies as the velocity was too powerful, which might hurt side passengers. Beginning by fitting a switch for drivers to switch off the passenger airbag should they be ferrying children, however the problem with humans are we tend to forget, hence the second generation was designed to counter this issue by placing a sensor that cleverly detects whether the passenger sitting atop is suitable for airbag deployment should an accident happened.
