Alfa 159 Successor: What do you do when you just can't make it happen? Call Daddy!

Italian car magazine Quattroroute had recently published an article stating that Alfa might return to their 'origins'.

Like always the case, manufacturers often behave like childrens, everything that doesn't work will end up "Papa" being summoned to save the day. Reviving what their ancestors had precariously created to try shimmer some light on themselves.

Seems like Alfa 'could' be returning to the name 'Giulia' for the next Alfa 159 successor, taking of the numeric numbering of their models and instead going for more a 'personal' approach.

Any Alfa fans upon reading here would definitely have shouted 'Hooray' when 'Giulia' was mentioned, not because it sounded nice, not because it is hard to pronounce, but it is when Alfas are true Alfa Romeos, the Giulia, is a rear wheel drive automotive heaven, the true sports sedan if everything thinks that it's the 3 Series that pioneered it.

Being traditionally involved in motorsports, Alfa's true heritage lies in because of their previous efforts in blending motorsports racing into their production vehicle's engineering. The Alfa 75 for example, had an engine placed at the front, driving the rear wheels, but with the gearbox mounted at the rear to improve weight distribution of the car - This is one of the many examples what hot blooded engineers from manufacturers with petrol flowing in their blood veins would do.

Unfortunately for modern Alfas, they're no more than spoilt sons trying to cash in on dad's success. A FWD Alfa Giulia? No thanks. Leave your ancestors alone.
