AGAIN - Mazda MX-5 Facelift patent with OHIM leaked

We'd guess some lawsuit against the OHIM (Office of Harmonization in the Internal Market) will happen soon, as another leakage from the agency had happened - TWICE this month and both are involved with Mazda's submission of two of their yet-to-release facelifts.

This round it involves the facelift of Mazda MX-5, featuring a slight tweak to the front end, changing the look of a 'shocked' MX-5 to the looks of a 'laughing' MX-5 - Yes, such descriptions are a bit retarded but don't know how else to describe it. The headlamps are now angled slightly downwards, with the intake grills angled upwards. The more we looked at it, the more apparent it is.

Truth be told, although we love reporting on upcoming facelifts, scouring for spy shots, scoops, however such leakages of information are very damaging for manufacturers as once consumers learnt of any upcoming model changes or facelifts, they will hold on their dough, fearing the 'older' models will devalue fast - which is true.

Let's take a look at how the facelift MX-5 stacks against the current outgoing model for a quick preview. Hit the jump to see the facelift Mazda MX-5 which will debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show in October 2008.
