The official record holder for the world's fastest production car, the SSC Ultimate Aero which shattered Bugatti Veyron's 408km/h with 412km/h. This is witnessed and recognised by Guinness World of Records.
With VW claiming how difficult it is to developed the Veyron, the heating problems and cooling issues, delays after delay sounding like the first and last successful attempt in pulling out the Excalibur - SSC made it all sound like desperate PR attempts, Jerod Shelby, which other than accidentally having the same surname as Caroll Shelby is known by only his parents in the automotive world, SSC like the name of perhaps a barbeque sauce is again never heard of - breaks out of cover, gets the car produced and goes faster than the Veyron in one attempt, even putting a 70 year old man for their Guinness Record run.
Sounds impossibly unbelievable, yet they did it.
