Will the real Lotus please stand up?! Lotus Hot Wheels Concept

Imagine this conversation happening in Lotus' HQ quite a while back.

Lotus CEO :"How's the Project Eagle going?"
Chief Engineer :"All set and done sir! There ya go boss, sweet right?"
Lotus CEO :"Wait......What the?!?!"
Chief Engineer :"Yes, sir?"
Lotus CEO :"I said, the drawing on MY left, NOT the one on your left!"
Lotus CEO :"Is it in production already?"
Chief Engineer :"I'm afraid yes sir."
Lotus CEO :"You and I are in BIG trouble."

When Lotus unveiled their Lotus Eagle Project - Evora for the first time, we've actually gone pretty worry with the way it looked, intended target market and selling price. Then Lotus got us even more worried by revealing in their press release that they're after ladies with the new Lotus Evora.

Lotus had traditionally been a brand that caters to a few, who're racing enthusiasts who're after motoring ingenuity, purism. By coming out with something aiming straight at Porsche Boxster, it got us really worried. Who would take an Evora over a Cayman, or SLK 55, or BMW Z4, or Audi TT-S ? And spend the entire night explaining to people with everyone they met in a cocktail party when they drive their Evora there?

And if Lotus would've done this, it would be a very much different story, and the automotive world wouldn't just go mysteriously silent after the Evora was unveiled; which shows everyone's dissapointment, but undying love for Lotus as a brand, it's heritage and tradition; that managed to stop critiscms from coming in, or to buy more time for Lotus to allow the masses to digest what disaster they've come out with.
