New Honda S2000? or S2500?

Seen here could be the next generation of S2000, taking very heavy styling cues from the current Accord Coupe - With which Wheels Weekly would like to suggest thou the new Accord for USDM market had a very distinctive style, it hardly calls for "Honda's New Look" for there's no coherent style across the model range.

Odyssey, CRV, Jazz, Stream, Airwave all sports the floating grill which many approves of, where as the double deck fascia of Civic totally refreshes Honda's image as being serious in their interior attempts; the new Accord however, other than having the same intentions of creating 'controversy' such as the E65 BMW 7 Series, is hardly appealing, nor interesting.

The angled frill and some Accord Coupe inspired lines hardly leads us into reminding ourselves of how it resembles S2000, other than the fact that it's a roadster, with FR layout and of course as a Honda, the engine would orgasm all the way to 9000rpm.

The other thing that raised our eyebrows are whether it would still be dubbed S2000, as the original S2000 was conceived to celebrate Honda's 50 year anniversary and to celebrate the coming of year 2000, with the displacement of the engine at 2000cc pumping out a staggering 250hp (125hp/liter); we would seriously doubt it could be called S2000 again.

Possibly utilizing the 2.4 iVTEC 4 pot engine that could pour out the same 250hp but with much better torque distribution across the range, or perhaps as many would hope, the 3.5 iVTEC V6 unit with VCM (Variable Cylinder Management) technology applied, and of course a 6 Speed manual and hardly surprising, the ever popular paddle shifters that are not only applicable for day to day run-about, and more efficient around the tracks at the same time.

Nonetheless we'll just have to wait for more spy shots, user contributions and press releases from Honda in these few years time to keep track of this VIC (Very Important Car) from Honda.

It is said to be expected in year 2010 and launched the following year, so it's anyone's gues for the most possible attempt. S2500? S3500?
