Datsun XLink Concept

Designed by Benjamin Nawka, a student at Pforzeim University and developed by Nissan Yulon Design Center.

A four door sedan coupe crossover, that is a sedan, which happens to look like a coupe if you weren’t paying attention, and if you weren’t paying attention while driving this, and ended up on the road side, is capable of doing some offroading.

The car’s inspiration, alike the segment it’s targeting, is also a mesh up between an aircraft and (read this) ARCHITECTURE. For all we know, designing a building is called architecture, even if you design a Swedish cottage that has wheels with a hybrid engine, it’s also called automotive design. It’s said that the frontal and rear winglets are where these inspirations fruit on.

Thou on looks wise, it is very interesting, however we can’t help noticing recent trends of automotive design, coupled with the unstoppable urge to hybrid-ize everything, multi function-ize everything we lay our eyes upon had to be stopped. The little winglets we reckon would not only be an aerodynamic nightmare, wind noise will also be apparently heightened, and lastly, why DATSUN ?

Please stop scouring through your “Automotive Names A-Z” and try re-giving-birth to everything that’s currently not in production.
