Bugatti Veyron's successor to debut in 2012, Bugatti considering racing program

Bugatti, the troubled car maker. Okay, not exactly troubled nor free of troubles.

The creator of the Veyron, a hypercar that reaches speeds in access of 400km/h, with 4 turbos, 10 intercoolers, W16 Engine (Think TWO V8 engines) that produces 1001hp, thou weighs 1800kg, the car is able to craft corners like a hothatch, accelerates faster than almost anything, and the driver and passenger is able to sit back for a relaxed chat whilst travelling 400km per hour.

The accomplishments are no joke, where they delayed the car from 2002 all the way till 2006, the industry has been laughing at Ferdinand Piech, the Chairman of Volkswagen and descendant of Ferdinand Porsche, a family owned sportscar maker; had proved everyone wrong.

Despite the measle 300 production run targets, Bugatti is still struggling to reach this target, despite selling at 1 Million EURO per car, it is rumoured that the entire production cost, upon dividing between the 300 cars, would cost VW 8 million EURO to produced each car - technically selling at a lost.

Well, perhaps it's good news that Bugatti's CEO Franz-Josef Paegen had mentioned that the replacement model will be in around 2012 (he meant 2016 we guessed) and that Bugatti will be involved in racing programs.

We can't help but to think that the racing program involvement would be a very wrong direction, owners of Veyron aren't buying it for it's racing heritage (Like how Audi tries to sell their diesel A4s by implying technologies were brought over from their LeMans 24 Hour winner R10 Diesel LMP1 car); and should Bugatti fail in their endeavour into racing programs, it will defintiely hurt their reputation very much (Think Jaguar).
